If I need to get there, I guess I better start pedaling.

Day Eleven. Night Ridin'.
Took the street machine out to Clover Village to meet up with Funnell for St. Practice Day at Killdare's. Got my drink on and cruised back home around 3am. There's something refreshing about a late night cruise after the temperature drops. Probably not the best idea ever, but your chances of a DUI, OWI, DWI are pretty much zero when you aren't behind the wheel.

Day Ten. Summer Summer Summer-Time.
Cruised the silver bullet down to Stephanie and Speelman's pool. Spent a few hours in the sun to get my golden-ness going... still trying to break through the red, but I know the tan is in there. Back to blogging about biking. I ALMOST DIED!!! Some asshole in a mini van turned right in front of me and I was 1 inch from slamming into the back of his vehicle. I would like to send an apology out to the soccer mom who heard me scream out 8 four letter words in 3 seconds. That's all for today.
Today's Message: Look out for bikers, and don't be a dick.

Day Nine. Cedar Point.
I will be gone all day, so know that while I may not be out riding the bike, I will be out conquering my fear of metal giants at America's Roller Coast.
Day Eight. Almost Forgot.
Ugh, tried to bike the venerable Rum Village Bike Annex today... no dice. Broken crank arm kept me off the trail, so I decided to do the next best thing. HARDCORE leg/ab workout at Anytime Fitness in Granger. Took Jay Risser out there so he could get his ass kicked for a while as well. Even though I didn't get to ride, I did get a chance to spend all day out by the pool at Speelman's apartment complex with my friends. That's a WIN if you ask me.

Day Seven. Too Many Gears.
I really need to simplify my road bike. Too many damned gears for in town use. I popped the chain off twice the other day and caught my self shifting through them like a fool on a tiny ass hill today. No more! That antique Fuji I am rocking is going to go through an extreme this week. In other news, I have gone a week without driving my car. I've been the responsible DD a couple of times, but I think within the parameters of this challenge that is totally acceptable. On to week two.

Day Six. Not Much To Report.
Even though I didn't have an adventure in the saddle of my bike, I still managed to stay away from my truck, and it's an odd, but I haven't even had the urge to fire it up. so many of us have been driving for years and years and become completely addicted to it. Yeah, it would be convenient to hop in the truck and run to Meijer, but breaking free from that addiction is quite refreshing.

Day Five. Here, There, and Everywhere.
Went on a three hour ride with Speelman and Capt. Morgan to DTSB (Downtown South Bend to all of my out of town followers). We hit up an amazing Cambodian/Thai restaurant for Linner (lunch/dinner) and I had duck for the first time ever. What took me so long!?! I'm getting to the point where even thinking about driving feels cheap and dirty. I enjoy the challenge of being on the bike and thinking to myself "I can't buy this or that, I would have to haul it home somehow". So not only am I saving money on gas, I'm avoiding impulse purchases as well. My wallet sure thanks me.
